Chase Street Elementary School-St. James' Partner in Education (PIE)

Chase Street is now housed in the OLD Gaines School Elementary building on Gaines School Road and
will be there for at least another year while they are completely rebuilding the old Chase St. building
.

People Needs:                                                     
Tutors - for one child or small group
Mentors - one-on-one relationship with a student for one year
Teacher helpers
Library helpers
Reading buddies
Book Fair clerks - one week in fall and spring
Food Providers - for staff and faculty during fall and spring parent-teacher conferences; also in American Education Week
Office Helpers
Outdoor cleanup of grounds
Activity helpers - at special events and field day

Things anyone can do without committing your time:
Pray for the school
Grocery shop at Ingles, Publix, and Kroger to benefit the school (call 548-1016 for how-to)
Clip General Mills coupons ("Boxtops for Education" not Betty Crocker) from cereals, snacks, etc.- place in clear plastic receptacle outside Fellowship Hall on wall by door
Purchase new or replacement books for the library
Help underwrite school field trips, both locally and overnight - individual scholarships
Donate new or good used children's clothes, especially coats, sneakers, underwear and socks in pre-school and kindergarten sizes.
Donate children's board games and any kind of sports equipment, such as balls and racquets (can be lightly used)
Provide financial help for occasional special projects
