Purpose of Children’s Ministry
To partner with families to:
- lead children to salvation and spiritual growth (by teaching God’s Word)
- provide a sense of community to our children to which they know they belong and
- provide opportunities for children and families to serve others.
Sunday Morning
On Sunday mornings, we offer Bible Study classes for children (pre-k4 through 5th grade) at 9:40 and Children’s Church for our pre-k through 2nd grade during the 11 o’clock worship service. Our classes are taught by gifted adults and high school youth who have answered
God’s call to teach and have committed to teaching our children for the next year. All adult teachers have current background checks on file and have been through our Child Protection Policy Training.

Wednesday Nights
Our Wednesday Night Activities are a fun way for our kids to learn more about God mid-way through the week while adults participate in their own studies. Our 1st-5th graders are involved in Praise Kids (children's choir) and Answers for Kids, a great curriculum to increase their biblical foundation. Pre-k4 and Kindergarten children are learning about God's creatures from A to Z through stories, games and crafts. The fun begins at 5:55 in Room 120.
Other Activities
We have summer activities, Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat, a Happy Birthday Jesus Party and a great Easter Celebration. Check the Newsletter or Calendar page for more details as the events approach.
Children’s Ministry Team
The Children’s Ministry Team is led by Jen Morlock and Melanie Jenkins, members of St. James. Parents and others interested in our ministry to children compose the rest of the team. The purpose of the Team is to support the Children’s Director by helping plan special events and providing input for our Sunday and Wednesday classes. We welcome anyone interested in serving in this ministry to join us.
