Nursery Ministry

Nursery

The St. James nursery is designed to provide a safe and loving environment for babies and young children while their parents are participating in worship and Bible study.  We see the nursery as more than just child care.  We take great honor in introducing your children to Christ through singing, dancing, crafting, playing and giggling!

Upon your arrival, our Nursery Minister and nursery workers will be here to greet you and help you get your child to the appropriate place, checked in properly, and answer any questions you may have.  Listed here are the basic details of our Nursery Ministry:

Nursery care is always provided on Sunday mornings from 9:40AM until the end of services.  On Wednesday evenings from 6PM to the end of services.  And for various other activities and studies.

A direct entrance to the nursery hall is at the back of the church, between the playgrounds, and is clearly marked.  We have three classrooms:  Straight From Heaven, for newborns to steady walkers, Toddling In Christ, for one and two year olds, and Friends in Christ, for three year olds.  Children who have turned four prior to September 1, of the current school year, participate in our Children's Program

While in the nursery, your child will be cared for by our fabulous team of paid workers and faithful congregational volunteers.  Our paid nursery workers are highly experienced in child care, devoted to loving your children and teaching them about the love of God.  Most of our workers are Undergraduate and Graduate students at UGA and are current in CPR and First Aid Training.  All workers are 18 years of age and older, background checked, reference checked, and trained by our Nursery Minister in nursery procedures and Safe Sanctuary policies.  Our congregational volunteers are active members of our congregation and also background checked and Safe Sanctuary trained.

All children should bring diapers, wipes and anything special that you require.  Babies should bring any bottles or baby food required.  We provide simple snacks and water for toddlers.  Please have your items clearly labeled so we can send them back home with you.

The St. James nursery is a great place to be. We look forward to seeing you soon!
