Worship Services & Bible Studies

Sunday Worship Services:

8:30, 9:40, and 10:50 A.M.

Back in August we made a few changes to the start times of our three worship services, to allow more flexibility and a little more "wiggle room".  We still may not get out right at 12:00, but it will be close.  Okay, closer.  We think you'll enjoy the time change.

Because we know not everyone worships in the same style, our services reflect that.  Here's a little more for you to know:

8:30 worship service -- a traditional Methodist worship service

9:40 worship service -- A fresh and revised order of worship:  gathering and greeting each other; a time of praise through singing;  and a focused message or lesson.  A great place to start if you're new to St. James, or just new to church in general.

10:50 worship service (new time!) -- incorporates both traditional and contemporary worship styles. It’s not unusual at this service to have traditional hymns as well as a jazz ensemble accompanying our Praise Team.

Regardless of the style you prefer or the service you attend, our desire is to lift up Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

2012 WEDNESDAY NIGHT OPPORTUNITIES

Our Wednesday Night Opportunities resumed in January, with activities available for all ages!

The fundamental mission of the church is to make disciples of Jesus, and we are embarking on that mission with a renewed fervor.  Many people have the desire to talk to other people about their faith, share the message of the Gospel and what Jesus has done for them, and encourage others in their own relationship with Jesus, but they will admit they don't feel like they have the skill or the "tools" they need.  Well, get ready to be equipped!

All of our activities and classes are designed to help us learn about Jesus, be connected with others as we learn, and to serve others by being involved in intentional relationship.  Our adult sessions make this happen in three ways.  In our men's and women's studies, we are focusing on what it means to be a disciple of Jesus and how to disciple others.  Our School of Healing Prayer class focuses specifically on the role that prayer has in our relationship with God, and how we can pray for others in the difficulties they face in their lives.  And, we have a "general" Adult Bible study that is led in an open discussion format, as we look to the Bible as the source of the answers to the questions we may have.  In January and February, we will be in the Gospel of John.

To find out more about how you can get plugged in, check out the schedule, below.
