United Methodist Women

The emphasis of United Methodist Women always has been mission work, traditionally carried out through monthly meetings of groups (circles) of women of the church. While also creating closer relationships among young and older members, circles use their meetings to study the Bible, relevant books, issues of the day and to work on mission projects. Current St. James projects include the collection of shoes for our mission areas and Christmas gifts and warm clothing for Appalachian children of West Virginia; two clothing sales per year (fund raisers for missions); and separate circle undertakings such as the nurses' clinic for the homeless, the Sparrow's Nest or Our Daily Bread soup kitchen.

If you would like information about any of our five circles which meet at different times and days of the month, call Betty Floyd (548-6512) or e-mail umw@sjumc.org.
